- How we research. Every guide starts from primary data: real installer bids readers forward us, state-level electricity rates from the EIA, and manufacturer spec sheets. When we quote a price or a payback period, it traces back to a source, not a vibe. We are not owned by an installer and we do not sell leads to one.
- How we make money. Some links to equipment or quote services are affiliate links, meaning we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. It never changes which products we recommend or the numbers in our calculator. If a popular product is a bad buy, we say so.
